Kurdish Icon Sivan Perwer Joins BCF’s Anti-Drug Campaign

On Monday, the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) announced that the renowned Kurdish artist Sivan Perwer has officially joined the national campaign led by the BCF to combat drug abuse.

“This is a national campaign against drug addiction. We started in June 2025 and are focusing on six main sectors,” Dr. Twana Rasul, the BCF’s addiction awareness project manager, told Kurdistan Chronicle. “The aim of this project is to raise awareness about the risks of drugs and help people who are addicted.”

“With all my heart and soul, I support the national campaign to confront drug abuse,” Perwer said about the campaign.

In a post on X, the BCF announced that Perwer had expressed his unconditional support for this humanitarian and national initiative.

“This nationwide campaign, launched to confront narcotic substances, has been ongoing for a year. In 2025, the BCF organized dozens of diverse activities, including conferences, seminars, and awareness workshops,” the foundation said.

“Kurdish artists are now also playing an influential role in this campaign as a national responsibility. Through art, especially music and voice, they aim to raise awareness among youth and help protect families from the danger of addiction,” the BCF concluded.
