KRG PM Strengthens Relations at World Governments Summit

On Tuesday, during the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with several senior world officials to strengthen Kurdistan’s bilateral relations.

The World Governments Summit is taking place from February 3-5 under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.’

   

During his visit, KRG Prime Minister Barzani met with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit. “We agreed on the need to deepen cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors,” Prime Minister Barzani posted on X.


Georgia’s Prime Minister Kobakhidze also expressed his appreciation and noted the positive role of Kurds in his country.

Prime Minister Barzani also met with Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE, during which they agreed on the importance of further strengthening the friendly and special relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE across all sectors.


“We discussed developments in the region and agreed to further strengthen the friendly and historic ties between the people of the Kurdistan Region and the UAE,” Prime Minister Barzani posted on X.


Prime Minister Barzani also met with Jordan’s Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, where Prime Minister Hassan conveyed King Abdullah II’s greetings and expressed his country’s desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.


“I reaffirmed Kurdistan’s appreciation for Jordan’s support, particularly that of HM King Abdullah II,” Prime Minister Barzani posted on X.
