KRG Prime Minister Arrives in Dubai for World Governments Summit

On Monday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Dubai to participate in the World Governments Summit 2026, following an official invitation from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.


Upon arrival, Prime Minister Barzani was received by Abdullah al-Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Justice.


According to the KRG readout, Prime Minister Barzani will meet with senior UAE officials as well as leaders and representatives of participating countries to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exchange views on the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.


The World Governments Summit will take place from February 3-5 and will convene under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.’ 


This summit will bring together governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders from around the globe to foster international cooperation and identify innovative solutions for future challenges, ultimately inspiring and empowering the next generation of governments.

Last year, Prime Minister Barzani also participated in the World Governments Summit in Dubai, and focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the Kurdistan Region and participating countries.
