On Tuesday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a telephone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.
In the call, the federal Prime Minister condemned Monday’s drone attacks on Prime Minister Barzani’s office and the residence of the head of the Parastin Agency. He stressed that these attacks on Iraq and the Kurdistan Region are unacceptable.
KRG Prime Minister Barzani thanked Prime Minister al-Zaidi for his call and stressed the importance of protecting the security and stability of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
On Monday, two drones from Iran targeted Prime Minister Barzani’s private office and the residence of the Director of the Parastin Agency in the Pirmam District of Erbil Governorate.

The same day, Iraqi Prime Minister al-Zaidi ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the attack.

The attacks have been condemned by EU member states, the United States, the UK, Palestine, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, calling them “a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the brotherly Republic of Iraq.”
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the attacks and stressed “the need to spare the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, continue along the path of dialogue and diplomacy, and de-escalate tensions in a manner that contributes to consolidating security and stability at both the regional and international levels.”
