On Sunday, President Masoud Barzani congratulated Kurdish MMA fighter Namo Fazil on his victory over Jake Babian in a welterweight bout at the Netflix MMA event in Los Angeles last Saturday.

“I congratulate the international champion, the young and talented Kurdish fighter, Namo Fazil, on his remarkable and outstanding victory achieved in MMA competitions in the United States,” President Masoud Barzani posted on X.

“He is a source of pride for all Kurds and Kurdistan. I extend my sincere appreciation and wish him continued success, progress, and further achievements in his career.”

On Sunday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani also congratulated Fazil on his win. 

“Warm congratulations and best wishes to the international champion and talented young Kurd, Namo Fazil, for achieving this great victory in MMA in the United States. I wish him continued success and even greater achievements in the future,” President Nechirvan Barzani posted on X.
