On Sunday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed visited the Chaldean community in Detroit.
During his visit to the United States, Minister Ahmed met Martin Manna, President of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, in Detroit, along with a distinguished group of community and business leaders.
While in Detroit, Minister Ahmed toured the new headquarters of the Chaldean Community Foundation, commending its vital role in serving and strengthening the community.
Minister Ahmed reaffirmed the KRG’s steadfast support for the many different components that call the Kurdistan Region home, as well as those in the diaspora, underscoring its enduring commitment to coexistence, inclusion, and shared prosperity.
Furthermore, while in Detroit, Minister Ahmed met with Sam Yono, a prominent Chaldean American businessman and community leader, and other members of the Chaldean and Kurdish diaspora.
He emphasized the KRG’s commitment to closer ties and welcomed initiatives to deepen collaboration and understanding with community and business leaders.

Last Tuesday, Minister Ahmed arrived in Washington, D.C., for an official visit aiming to strengthen cooperation and advance shared interests between the KRG, Iraq, and the United States, meeting several U.S. officials, senators, and congresspeople.
During his visit, he also met U.S. Senior Bureau Official Robert Palladino, who previously served as U.S. Consul General in Erbil in 2021-2022.
