Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Cairo on Saturday as part of an official regional visit to meet with the Egyptian leadership.

Prime Minister Barzani was received by Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, and several other Egyptian officials.

During the visit, Prime Minister Barzani will meet with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and other senior officials to discuss relations between the Kurdistan Region and Egypt, as well developments in Iraq and the broader region.

Egypt has strong relations with the Kurdistan Region and in 2010 became the first Arab country to open a consulate in the Kurdistan Region.
