24/7 Electricity Fully Restored: KRG
December 04, 2025

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Electricity on Sunday announced that 24/7 hour electricity supply to the Kurdistan Region has been restored.

At 2:00 am today, the Ministry of Electricity announced that the transfer of gas from the Khor Mor field to the power generation stations had begun and that the situation would return to normal.

On Wednesday, the Khor Mor gas field in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region was attacked for the 11th time by outlawed militias from the Tuz Khurmatu area. As a result, 80% of the Kurdistan Region’s electricity was cut.

“During this attack, it became patently clear that the adversaries and hired fixers could not fathom the progress of the Kurdistan Region or the well-being of its people.

They instead resorted to cowardly, inhumane acts and plunged the public into darkness,” KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said yesterday evening.

“I want to thank the Kurdistani people for their patience and resilience following the terror attack on the Kurdistan Region’s gas infrastructure a few days ago,” Prime Minister Barzani also added.

“The patriotic people of the Kurdistan Region by and large have condemned this attack as an attack against every citizen, cutting power to millions of people in the Kurdistan Region and the rest of Iraq.”
