Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Al Gergawi on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE in the field of expertise exchange and government modernization.
The KRG said the memorandum signed on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai renewed a previous agreement for another five years, focusing on the exchange of expertise and knowledge in governance, benefiting from the UAE’s advanced experience in government business development, capacity building, and institutional strengthening.

During a special panel on Tuesday, Prime Minister Barzani underscored the strong and strategic ties between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE, adding that the UAE was a “model to look up to” in terms of implementing reforms.
“You have to learn from the success stories of the countries that have gone through this path.”
