Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with several prominent UAE and Gulf officials on Tuesday and Wednesday on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai and discussed investment opportunities and bilateral relations.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Barzani met with the UAE’s President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The meeting, also attended by KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, focused on the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.

Prime Minister Barzani on Wednesday also met with the UAE’s Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral investment relations and exploring opportunities to leverage the UAE’s advanced expertise in this field.
Additionally, on Tuesday Prime Minister Barzani reviewed practical avenues to expand trade and cooperation with Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah on Tuesday.

We reviewed practical avenues to expand trade and cooperation and navigate regional developments with a shared goal of long-term prosperity and stability.

He also met with GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi to discuss advancing KRI-GCC ties on the basis of mutual interest and regional progress.
On the same day, he also met Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.

During a special panel on Tuesday, Prime Minister Barzani underscored the strong and strategic ties between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE, adding that the UAE was a “model to look up to” in terms of implementing reforms.
