Kurdistan President Discusses Bilateral Ties with Turkiye’s Erdogan

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday met with Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara and discussed the importance of strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

“I am delighted to have met with President @RTErdogan once again in Ankara. Our discussions covered a range of issues, including enhancing regional stability and further strengthening the ties between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Turkiye,” President Nechirvan Barzani posted on X.

Turkiye’s Turkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan also met with President Barzani, in a meeting also attended by National Intelligence Organization Director Ibrahim Kalin.

The last time President Nechirvan Barzani met with President Erdogan was when he traveled to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in April 2024.
