Kurdistan Region Presidency Spokesperson Dilshad Shahab announced on Tuesday that Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is scheduled to meet with Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, as part of an official visit.

The two officials will reportedly discuss the advancement of Turkiye’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the recent developments in the wider region, while also sharing perspectives on other issues of mutual interest.

The last time President Nechirvan Barzani met with President Erdogan was when he traveled to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in April 2024 – the first visit in 13 years.
