At this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Kurdistan Region introduced the 'Kurdish House,’ a dynamic platform poised to spotlight the economic and cultural prowess of Kurdistan on the global stage.
On January 15, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, heading a number of government officials, business leaders and investors from the Kurdistan Region, arrived in Davos to join world leaders for this year’s event.
In a statement on its official website, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) introduced the ‘Kurdish House’ in Davos as “a dedicated venue showcasing the Kurdistan Region’s history, culture, and economic and investment potential.”
At this year’s WEF, the Kurdish House’s focus is said to be largely on actively promoting the investment initiatives, bolstering economic growth and stability in Kurdistan and Iraq, while also emphasizing the importance of security and cooperation.
“The platform will also shed light on technological advancements, particularly in the unregulated realm of artificial intelligence in Iraq, aligning with the ever-evolving landscape of global trade. We aim to also highlight urgent issues related to climate change such as water scarcity, ensuring energy security, and collaboration for meeting global demands,” the platform wrote on its website.
The Kurdish House in Davos also presents the beautiful landscape of the region and its potential for expanded tourism in the new global era, advocating for inclusivity and sustainable practices. By actively promoting women peace and security, re-skilling, and up-skilling initiatives, the Kurdish House supports a dynamic workforce and envisions an engaged youth population driving economic growth.
“At the Kurdish House, our core focus is on fostering collaboration for positive impact where we strive to promote understanding, inclusivity, and sustainable solutions for the challenges faced worldwide and affecting the region specifically,” the house emphasized, inviting visitors to the Kurdish House on 15-19 January 2024 in Davos.
Meanwhile, Kurdistan Chronicle is delighted to join this initiative by delivering the latest issue of its magazine to a diverse range of readers in Davos this year.
