A drone attack targeted the Khor Mor gas field on Sunday, February 2, but no damage was caused to the field or the gas company, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Natural Resources said on Sunday.

The ministry said that the gas production at the field remains unaffected and that gas supply to the power stations continues as normal. An assessment of the material damage from the attack is underway.

On April 26, 2024, four Yemeni workers were killed in a drone attack carried out by unknown perpetrators on the Khor Mor field, a gas field operated by UAE-based Dana Gas in Sulaymaniyah’s Chamchamal district. 

Production from the Khor Mor gas processing plant and the 180-kilometer pipeline supplies gas-to-power stations in Chamchamal, Bazian, and Erbil, generating over 2,000 MW of electricity.
