On Monday, January 20, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2025, held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from January 20-24, with this year’s theme being “Rebuilding Trust”.
The KRG said in a readout that during his participation in the forum, Prime Minister Barzani will hold a series of meetings with presidents, prime ministers, and senior officials from various countries worldwide.
The KRG stated that these meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss avenues for cooperation with the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, and investment.
Additionally, this year, the Kurdistan House in Davos – established last year under the Prime Minister’s initiative – will host several events featuring investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from Kurdistan.

The aim is to promote the Kurdistan Region, facilitate investment opportunities, and enhance trade.
The KRG also said that Prime Minister Barzani’s participation in the WEF aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen Kurdistan’s international standing, advance its diplomatic engagement, and support economic development and investment in the region.

Prime Minister Barzani also participated in the WEF in 2024, where he engaged with world political leaders, business people, and leaders of non-governmental organizations.
