Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, during an official visit to Abu Dhabi.
“I’m pleased to see my brother HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi,” Prime Minister Barzani posted on X. “We discussed our strong bilateral ties and developments in the region.”

According to a KRG readout, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the broader region.
They emphasized the importance of strengthening the longstanding friendship between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE.
Additionally, they explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation and coordination across a range of sectors.

Over the years, the Kurdistan Region and the UAE have developed a close partnership in fields like government services, construction, education, and digital transformation.
In the last few years, the Kurdistan Region has also exported its first major non-oil products to the UAE, including pomegranates and potatoes.
