On Tuesday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Mazloum Abdi, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic of Syria, to discuss the situation in Syria.
They exchanged views on the developments in the country and the wider region, according to the KRG readout.
They emphasized the importance of preserving peace, security, and stability in Syria and protecting the rights of Kurds and all other components.
On Monday, President Masoud Barzani also received Abdi and discussed the latest developments in Syria, including the future of Kurds in Syria.
In August, Syria’s President Ahmad al-Sharaa appointed Abdi as presidential advisor, three days after he announced the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as part of the January 29 agreement between the SDF and Damascus after serious fighting took place between the two.
The Kurdistan Region played an important role in finding a peaceful solution to the disputes between the SDF and Damascus.
