On Tuesday, September 22, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Information Technology (DIT) received the Digital Transformation and Government Innovation award at the Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026.

The KRG DIT received the award for its work with Google Cloud to modernize government operations through cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

“This milestone reflects DIT’s continued commitment to secure, citizen-centred digital government,” the DIT said in a post on X.

The Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026 took place as a one-day event on September 22, 2026. It was held at the Qatar National Convention Center.

The event marked the third anniversary of the Google Cloud Doha region and brought together more than 2,000 technology executives, developers, and strategic partners to review the integration of Gemini Enterprise across key industries.
