On Saturday, the Kurdistan Region Presidency condemned the September 10 attacks targeting oil pipelines in Saudi Arabia and expressed support for the Iraqi government’s efforts to investigate the attacks.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency also affirmed “our full solidarity with the Kingdom and our commitment to its security and stability.

“We also support the measures taken by the Iraqi Federal Government to investigate these attacks, uncover those responsible, and hold them accountable.”

The Kurdistan Region Presidency underlined that “Iraqi territory must not be a launching pad for any threat or attack targeting neighboring countries, and that respecting the sovereignty of states, good neighborliness, and adopting dialogue and cooperation are the best ways to protect Iraq’s security and stability and enhance the security and stability of the region.”

On September 10, Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline was targeted with several drones, shutting down the pipeline. 

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday said the pipeline was targeted by drones launched from within Iraq. 

Following the incident, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, ordered the dismissal of the Maysan Governorate police chief from his position. 

He also ordered the transfer of the governorate’s security agency directors to the personnel reserve and their referral for investigation, in light of the security breaches in the governorate.

On Tuesday, the Kurdistan Regional Government Department of Foreign Relations condemned the attacks targeting cities and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia.
