KRG PM Barzani Appreciates Support by UK and Coalition

On Thursday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s appreciation for the support and assistance provided by the UK and Coalition forces in a meeting with UK Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, UK Senior Defense Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa.

During the meeting, which was attended by the UK’s Consul General in the Kurdistan Region Holly Vare, they exchanged views on the developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region.

They agreed on the importance of further developing the historic relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UK and strengthening security coordination and cooperation.


They also discussed the need to reactivate the Kurdistan Parliament, form a new cabinet of the KRG, and resolve outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on the basis of respect for the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region.
