On Thursday, Jordan Medical Council Secretary-General Manar al-Lawama met with Kurdistan High Council of Medical Specialties President Ariana Barzanji and Jordan’s Health Attaché in Erbil Suleiman Ammarin to explore expanding bilateral cooperation, Jordan’s Fana News agency reported.

According to the official Facebook page of the Kurdistan Higher Council of Medical Specialties, they discussed cooperation between the two councils, particularly in the areas of capacity building, examinations, and training programs, in a way that contributes to developing the medical education and training system.

During the meeting, al-Lawama praised the significant and rapid progress witnessed by the health sector in the Kurdistan Region and expressed the Jordan Medical Council’s readiness to make its capabilities and expertise available to the Kurdistan Higher Council. The two organizations also discussed exchanging expertise and experience in areas of mutual interest.

For his part, Barzanji stated that he valued the level of cooperation between the two organizations and stressed the importance of continued work to broaden the scope of this cooperation and establish new frameworks for joint work. He also praised the Jordanian Medical Council’s long history and its capabilities and expertise in the health and medical education sectors.
