Coalition Intercepts Ten Drones in Erbil Airspace

According to the Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate (CTD), Coalition forces intercepted ten drones in the skies over Erbil early Wednesday morning.


The CTD said that on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, between 1:13 am and 3:31 am, Coalition forces intercepted and shot down ten explosive drones in the airspace of Erbil Governorate. 


The attacks did not result in any casualties.


Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed direct responsibility for the attacks.


Since February 28, the Kurdistan Region has been attacked more than 1,000 times by drones and missiles, killing at least 32 people.
