On Sunday, German-Kurdish MP Sardar Yüksel of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) met with senior Kurdish leaders in Erbil and voiced support for the Kurdistan Region.
He was warmly welcomed by President Masoud Barzani, who expressed his pleasure that a young Kurd has been able to play a role in Germany’s political and parliamentary institutions and praised Yüksel for his role in defending the Kurdish cause and the rights of refugees in Germany.
President Barzani emphasized that the Kurdish issue in the Middle East should be resolved peacefully and through dialogue.Yüksel, for his part, expressed his appreciation for President Masoud Barzani and said that in Germany and many other parts of the world there are people who are friends of the Kurds.Yüksel also expressed appreciation for the role of the Barzani Charity Foundation in providing assistance and support to people affected by war.
Yüksel also met with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, who thanked the German government and parliament for their continued support for the Kurdistan Region during difficult times, particularly in the fight against terrorism.
Last Thursday, Yüksel also visited Kurdistan Regional Government Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed and congratulated the Barzani Charity Foundation’s leader Musa Ahmed on the 21st anniversary of the foundation’s establishment.
Ahmed extended his appreciation to the people, government, and parliament of Germany for their support and cooperation with the Kurdistan Region over the years.
