On Friday, UAE-based energy company Dana Gas reported a sharp increase in first-half 2026 profit despite security-related disruptions that affected operations at its flagship Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

On July 27, Dana Gas announced that it would gradually resume production at the Khor Mor gas field, a week after it suspended production due to security risks amid ongoing drone attacks.

Dana Gas reported a net profit of $107 million in the first half of 2026, up 47% from $73 million during the same period last year.

“Our results show the resilience of the business. We managed to increase production and recorded higher net profit despite the regional security situation affecting utilization of our expanded processing capacity in the Kurdistan Region,” Dana Gas CEO Richard Hall said.

“We recognize and commend the resilience and dedication of our field employees in the Kurdistan Region, who continued to operate under exceptionally challenging circumstances with safety as a key priority. The Khor Mor plant also demonstrated its reliability under demanding operating conditions. We were one of the only operators to maintain production throughout the disruption, in recognition of our responsibility to continue supplying gas for electricity generation.

“We also continue to engage constructively with the Kurdistan Regional Government on strengthening collections, which is essential to support future investment.”
