KRG PM Welcomes Korean Consul General, Honors Outgoing French Envoy

On Monday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed Eoon-Gyo Shim, the new Consul General of the Republic of Korea in the Kurdistan Region, and also bid farewell to Yann Braem, the outgoing Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Consul General Shim and conveyed the support of the KRG for the success of his mission.

Consul General Shim expressed his pleasure at assuming office in the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the importance of further advancing bilateral relations across various sectors.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Barzani today bid farewell to France’s Consul General Braem on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked the Consul General for his role and efforts in strengthening the friendship and relations between the Kurdistan Region and France. He also wished him success in his future work.

Consul General Braem expressed his appreciation for the strong cooperation, coordination, and support extended by the institutions of the KRG to the Consulate General of France in Erbil.

The two officials also discussed the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as developments in the wider region.
