On Sunday, President Masoud Barzani expressed his condolences and sympathy to Syria’s President Ahmad al-Sharaa over yesterday’s traffic incident in Syria, in which a large number of civilians were killed and injured.
On Saturday, 35 people were killed and 30 others were injured in a traffic accident on the Damascus-Deir Ezzor road, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported.
SANA reported that the accident occurred when two buses collided in the area between al-Sukhnah and Palmyra on the Damascus-Deir Ezzor highway.
On Saturday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani also extended his condolences to the government and people of Syria
“We received with profound sorrow and sadness the news of the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Syrian Arab Republic, claiming the lives of a number of citizens.
“We extend our sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the families and relatives of the victims, as well as to the Syrian government.”
