The Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) announced that, on Friday morning between 9:32 and 9:45 am, coalition forces intercepted and shot down five bomb-laden drones in the skies over Erbil.
“The drones had been launched from the western side of Erbil province. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no loss of life,” the CTG said.
On Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) condemned “the renewed hostile attacks by Iran” targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq with missiles and drones.

Last week, the Kurdistan Regional Government Presidency of the Council of Ministers called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop attacks on the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing that “the continuation of these attacks constitutes a grave threat to regional peace and security and risks further destabilizing the entire region.”
