Coalition Forces Down Eight Explosive-Laden Drones Over Erbil

The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Directorate on Wednesday in a statement said that coalition forces intercepted and destroyed eight explosive-laden drones over the skies of Erbil.

“The engagement occurred between 20:53 and 21:20 local time. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties resulting from the incident,” the CTD said.

So far, no armed group or Iran claimed responsibility for the attack.

Also on July 13, the Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Directorate announced that a refugee camp housing Iranian Kurdish refugees in the Darashakran subdistrict of Pirmam, Erbil, was targeted by three explosive-laden drones early on Monday morning.

The attack didn’t cause any casualties.

The Kurdistan Region has faced multiple drone and missile attacks since the outbreak of conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran, including during declared ceasefires.
