On Wednesday, President Masoud Barzani welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and expressed hope that it would lead to a lasting peace.

“We hope that this ceasefire between the United States and Iran will lead to lasting peace, and bring security and prosperity to our region, serving as a starting point for a final resolution to the conflicts that exist in our region,” President Barzani stated on X.

“Certainly, peace is always better than war.”Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani also welcomed the ceasefire on Wednesday.

“I hope all parties will uphold this commitment in good faith and work toward a lasting peace that promotes stability, security, and prosperity throughout the entire region,” he underlined.

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he had agreed to suspend the bombing of Iran for a period of two weeks and received a 10-point proposal from Iran.
