KRG Prime Minister, U.S. Congressman Brian Mast Discuss Coordination

On Thursday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke with Congressman Brian Mast, Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, on the developments in the Middle East.


The KRG readout said that both sides agreed on the importance of close coordination in addressing current challenges and advancing shared interests.


On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Barzani received a telephone call from U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack, in which Ambassador Barrack conveyed the greetings and regards of President Donald Trump to the Prime Minister and thanked him for his willingness to cooperate with the federal government to resume oil exports through Turkey.


“Many thanks to Erbil and Baghdad for their work to reach [an] agreement at this critical time to resume energy exports and improve prosperity for the region. Your courage, steadfast cooperation, and commitment to the diplomatic path have been truly invaluable,” Ambassador Barrack posted after the call on X.


“The United States remains fully committed to supporting these important efforts in this time of crisis.”
