Kurdistan Region, UAE Concerned Over Intensification of War in Region

On Friday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani held a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, during which the two leaders discussed the dangerous repercussions of the ongoing war.


During their conversation, the two leaders addressed the recent developments in the region as well as the dangerous repercussions of the ongoing war between the United States, Israel and Iran. In this regard, both parties expressed great concern over the intensification of the conflict and emphasized the importance of enhancing diplomatic engagements to ease tensions and maintain peace and stability in the region.


They also discussed the UAE’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, focusing on enhancing collaborative efforts across multiple sectors. Both sides expressed their commitment to further fortifying their longstanding friendly ties.


President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, extending his wishes for peace and continued prosperity for the people of the UAE.


Since the beginning of the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran on February 28, there has been an increase in drone and missile attacks on the Kurdistan Region, as well as reports that Iranian Kurdish opposition parties may join the war.


On Friday, there were also three attacks on Iranian Kurdish parties in which four people were injured.
