Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday arrived in Abu Dhabi on an official visit to the UAE, where he was received by the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Saeed Bin Mubarak al-Hajer.

According to the KRG readout, Prime Minister Barzani will hold a series of meetings with senior UAE officials to discuss ways to enhance and further develop bilateral relations, as well as to review developments in Iraq and the wider region.

During his visit, KRG Prime Minister Barzani met with Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al-Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in Abu Dhabi .

“We underscored the importance of further strengthening the friendship and coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE,” KRG Prime Minister Barzani posted on X.

The Kurdistan Region has a very strong relationship with the UAE in both diplomatic and trade relations. The UAE appointed a special envoy to the Kurdistan Region in September.

In October, KRG Prime Minister Barzani thanked the UAE for its partnership with the Kurdistan Region during a visit of a high-level delegation from the UAE.
