At the last day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani held meetings with EU Special Representative for the Gulf Luigi Di Maio, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Turkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler, and Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting with EU Special Representative Di Maio, both officials emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the EU.
During the meeting with Secretary-General Aboul Ghei, both officials discussed the relationship between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the Arab League.
Additionally, during the meeting with Minister Guler, the Kurdish president discussed Turkiye’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as their joint cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Kurdistan Region President also met with Minister Lavrov, and discussed Russia’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, with a particular focus on economic cooperation.
They also exchanged views on the overall situation in Iraq and the wider region, including recent political and security developments.

On Friday, Kurdistan Region President also met with Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian Interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
After his visit to Turkiye, Barzani is expected to visit France and meet with France’s President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, marking his fifth official visit to the Elysee Palace.
