Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on July 14 condemned the attempted assassination of the former president and presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump in strongest terms.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Barzani wished Trump a “speedy recovery” and added that his “thoughts are with all the victims of this senseless act of terrorism.”

A shooting at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 killed one person and critically injured two others.
In a statement on social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear.
The U.S. Secret Service said it had killed the suspected shooter, later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attacked from a rooftop outside the rally event.
The assassination attempt comes during the campaign for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, which is set to be held on November 5, 2024.
Voters will elect a president and vice president for a term of four years.
