Young Kurdish Violinist Wins Second Place in Italy

Filit Delvin, a 14-year old Kurdish violinist from Almaty, Kazakhstan, has won second place at the International Youth Competition “Suoni di Venezia,” which was held from July 4 to July 14.

The competition was held in Venice, Italy, also known as the birthplace of violin.

The jury consisted of experts from Italy, Germany, and several other European countries. Dozens of musicians from different countries participated in the competition, with Delvin winning second place and receiving the Grand Prix of the Violin.

Delvin was born on July 8, 2010, into an intellectual Kurdish family living in Kazakhstan. She has participated in several international festivals and competitions.

She has previously won several awards, including first place in Vocal and Instrumental Arts at the 2020 Great Music Festival in Kazakhstan, as well as first place at the Grand Prix of the International Violin Competition.
