Kurdish fashion designer Lara Dizeyee has been appointed as Kurdistan's Cultural Ambassador for her remarkable contributions to her field.
The appointment was announced on October 12 during a ceremony at the University of Sulaymaniyah, where she was commended for taking the rich Kurdish culture to international stages.
Earlier this year, Lara Dizeyee's designs took center stage at Paris Fashion Week 2023, where Kurdish traditional costumes with a touch of modernity were showcased.
Asked about her future plans after her appointment as Kurdistan's Cultural Ambassador, Dizeyee told the media that she will continue to work on Kurdish traditional outfit designs as she believes that "there is still a lot to do.”
Dizeyee's designs are seen as a vibrant celebration of Kurdish culture, featuring intricate patterns, traditional motifs, and striking colors that display her signature flair and creativity.
The Kurdish designer's talent has not gone unnoticed. Earlier this year, international fashion magazines such as Vogue Arabia featured her designs as a new emerging masterpiece.
In a previous interview with Vogue Arabia, Dizeyee explained that her father, Homer Dizeyee, who is a renowned poet, author, and singer, and has had a profound impact on Kurdish culture, has also influenced her brand. She sees it as a continuation of her family's creative legacy.
