ERBIL (Kurdistan Chronicle) — The Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, is set to deliver a speech on Monday at the World Government Summit in Dubai. This annual event is hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and brings together leaders from around the world to discuss global issues as well as opportunities for collaboration.

In his speech, PM Barzani will shed light on the success stories in the Kurdistan Region that has led to accelerating the governmental impact and directly benefiting the public, according to Lawk Ghafuri, Head of Foreign Media Affairs at the Kurdistan Region’s Department of Media and Information.

On the sidelines of the event, PM Barzani has so far met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili during which they discussed closer relations, ways to boost cooperation, and the possibility of opening Georgia’s Consulate General in Erbil.

“I’m pleased to return to the UAE for the World Governments Summit 2023 — and meet with its leaders to share Kurdistan’s story. It’s also a chance to build on our progress over the past year, to deepen existing partnerships and for new investors to explore the opportunities we offer,” PM Barzani wrote on Twitter after landing in Dubai.

PM Barzani’s long-term commitment to public service makes him well suited for delivering a powerful message about progress made by the KRG towards achieving peace through economic growth during his address at the important annual event.

In addition to focusing on key areas like infrastructure investment, job creation, education reform, healthcare access, and civil society engagement among others; PM Barzani will also likely emphasize cooperation between countries to create greater prosperity not just throuhout the Middle East but all parts of the world too.

Through active participation in such influential events, the Kurdistan Region hopes that other nations can gain insight into what it takes for Kurdistan to make strides towards achieving sustainable stability.

The challenges faced by the Kurdistan Region are not unique; many other countries have experienced similar difficulties due to internal or external pressures. PM Barzani’s message to partners at the World Governments Summit is intended to provide hope that these issues can be addressed through collaboration between different stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, and private sector actors working together towards common goals.
