Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday congratulated two female volleyball teams from the Kurdistan Region on winning the national Iraqi volleyball championships.
“Warmest congratulations to the leaders, coaches, and players of the Sanharib Club in Duhok, Akad in Ankawa, and Qaraqush/Bakhdida for achieving first, second, and third places in the Iraqi national volleyball championships,” Prime Minister Masrour Barzani posted on X.

"I wish them continued progress and reaffirm our support for the athletes and the sports movement in Kurdistan."
The Ninth Cabinet of the KRG has supported sports in the Kurdistan Region and has invested in 14 projects worth $84 million in sports. Prime Minister Barzani has also personally attended football events.
On April 15, Prime Minister Barzani attended the match when Duhok Sports Club defeated Kuwait’s Qadsia SC 2-1 in the final of the Gulf Club Champions League, becoming the first Kurdish club to win the regional tournament.
