Kurdish leaders on Tuesday welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

“Restraint and dialogue are the only way forward. The region needs stability, respect for neighbors and partners, and decisions based on wisdom and responsible leadership,” Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said.

Furthermore, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Tuesday underlined that “the only viable path toward lasting stability, security, and prosperity in the Middle East lies in inclusive, constructive dialogue and mutual understanding among all parties.”

“I extend my appreciation to President Trump and other leaders for their commitment to diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts at this critical time.”

Furthermore, President Barzani on Friday, June 13, condemned Israel’s 12-day attack on Iran, during which both sides exchanged missile and drone strikes until President Trump announced a ceasefire.
