Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday, June 16, held separate meetings with diplomatic representatives from the UAE and Hungary.
Prime Minister Barzani bid farewell to Attila Toth, the outgoing Consul General of Hungary in the Kurdistan Region, thanked him for his service and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Consul General Toth expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and coordination extended to him by relevant institutions of the KRG throughout his tenure, the KRG said in a readout.
In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Barzani received Sheikha Bashir Farhan, the new Charge d’Affaires of the UAE’s Consulate General in Erbil, and congratulated her on assuming her duties and wished her success, reaffirming the KRG’s full support in fulfilling her mission.
According to the KRG readout, the Prime Minister highlighted the special and friendly ties between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE, and reiterated the KRG’s appreciation for the UAE’s leadership and its continued support for the people of Kurdistan.
Sheikha Farhan conveyed the greetings and respect of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum to Prime Minister Barzani, and emphasized the importance of further deepening bilateral relations.
