Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen from the Democratic Party to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.

According to the KRG readout, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing security and economic ties and cooperation.

Furthermore, the KRG said they “highlighted the significance of the recent successful visit by a high-level KRG delegation to the United States, led by Prime Minister Barzani, and the constructive meetings held with members of Congress and the U.S. administration.”

Moreover, they also discussed the need to respect and uphold the federal status of the Kurdistan Region, along with the constitutional rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistani people.

Prime Minister Barzani and Senator Rosen also discussed regional developments, especially those in Syria.
