Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday received Ahmed Safadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan, and discussed the historical ties between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region.

According to the KRG readout, Safadi expressed his pleasure at visiting the Kurdistan Region and praised its development and prosperity. He highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, and reaffirmed Jordan’s readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the importance of deepening the longstanding friendship between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan. He reiterated the KRG’s appreciation for the continued support of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and King Abdullah II.

They also discussed the KRG’s reform agenda in the fields of energy, finance, and digitalization, as well as the situation in the region and the importance of safeguarding security and stability.

Safadi also met with President Masoud Barzani and exchanged views on recent developments in the region.

According to Barzani Headquarters, they also emphasized the historical ties and friendship between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, and the importance of further strengthening these relations.
