President Masoud Barzani on Sunday praised the participation of Kurdistani citizens in the Newroz celebrations held in the German city of Cologne on March 22.
“The participation of this large number of beloved Kurdistanis and adherents of the path of Kurdishness and patriotism in this gathering is a clear indication of the strength and vitality of the Kurdish communities abroad.

“It proves that our people abroad represent a powerful force, always ready to support the legitimate cause of the people of Kurdistan in international forums and before world public opinion,” he stated.
On March 22, thousands of Kurds from different parts of Kurdistan gathered in Cologne, which has a large Kurdish population, to celebrate Kurdish unity. Several famous Kurdish artists performed at the event, including Sivan Perwer, Alend Hazim, Ayub Ali, Hani Mojtahedy, Nazdar Ciziri, Xebat Dihoki, Sherifo, Azad Feqo, Hejat Elane, and Emin Nadar. Several politicians spoke at the event.
President Barzani also mentioned the celebration in his Newroz message on March 21.
