Over the past few years, several small to medium-sized collaborative projects have been established by Kurdish and Dutch companies. In addition, several large Kurdish companies have decided to enter the dairy industry.
Hoshang Kanabi Hamad, Agriculture Advisor at the Netherlands Consulate General in Erbil, added that the Consulate General wants to build on its success story in developing potato production by bringing in seeds, supporting farmers, and improving the value chain by adding processing lines.
“Now, we want to expand to other areas, from greenhouses to open field horticulture, fruit growing, poultry, and sustainable dairy production,” Consul General IJsselstein explained.
“There are great opportunities in the agricultural sector here. And if you are a Dutch company interested in doing business here, do contact us.”
