The participants of the meeting discussed the political and security situation in Syria, the results of the dialogue and rapprochement between the Kurdish parties in Syria, as well as the visit of the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Mazloum Abdi to President Masoud Barzani.
During the meeting, President Masoud Barzani stressed the need for Kurdish parties in Syria to unify ranks, coordinate, and work together.
On Thursday, January 16, President Masoud Barzani received General Abdi in Salahaddin to discuss Kurdish unity efforts in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime.

The U.S. State Department on January 19 welcomed the January 16 meeting between President Masoud Barzani and the SDF chief.
“Intra-Kurdish dialogue can play a critical role in bolstering an inclusive political transition in Syria,” the U.S. State Department posted on X.
