Top Kurdish leaders on January 2 condemned the terrorist attack in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, where 15 people were killed and at least 35 injured when a driver rammed into a crowd of revelers on New Year’s.

The driver was identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen born in Texas. An ISIS flag was found in the truck used to carry out the attack.
“I condemn the terror attack in New Orleans,” Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani posted on X.
“The KRG stands in solidarity with the victims and their families, and the American people in this difficult time.”

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani posted on X that he “strongly [condemns] the attack against innocent people in New Orleans.”
