The 11th Duhok International Film Festival opened on December 9, 2024, with the theme of “Sports for All.”
Held from December 9 to 16, the festival is set to showcase 107 films from 31 countries at the Congress Hall at Duhok University and the Duhok Mall cinema complex in the Kurdistan Region.

Out of 750 submissions, the selection committee shortlisted 107 films, including 61 international films and 46 Kurdish productions. The Kurdish entries featured seven feature films, eight documentaries, and 12 short films, with 19 competing in the world cinema category.
The festival highlighted global diversity and the spirit of competition through its rich lineup of films.
This year India was chosen as the festival’s spotlight country.
