Spanish Kurdish race car driver Isaac Tutumlu told Kurdistan Chronicle that the Kurdistan Racing Team is back on the race track and will join the GT World Challenge finale for the six-hour race in the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia on November 29-30.
“We will be racing with the Lamborghini Grasser Racing Team in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2,” he said.
“This is thanks to our sponsors: North Light Holding, Korek Telecom, AG Oil Services, and a new energy drink we will soon start distributing in Kurdistan called EGARRI.”

On March 4, 2024, Tutumlu announced that his team would not continue racing due to financial difficulties in the Kurdistan Region and a lack of sponsors.
Tutumlu told Kurdistan Chronicle on the sidelines of the TEDxNishtiman event in Erbil on April 25 that he was working on finding new sponsors. “I’m ready any time to come back, and I’m fighting for it,” he said at the time.
Tutumulu persevered and managed to find sponsors again, and is back to racing.
“We are back to racing! It’s been almost a year without competing due to financial limitations and a lack of support and sponsorship. Finally, we have secured the support needed to join the finale in Saudi Arabia,” Tutumlu told Kurdistan Chronicle on Friday.
“Representing Kurdistan in a world championship final is something unique and amazing, especially in the Middle East, and we’re thrilled and full of joy. We’re looking forward to a great race. This will be the Kurdistan Racing Team’s first time competing in Saudi Arabia. Previously, with the Barzani Racing Team, we raced in the Middle East, but this is a new milestone.”
