On Sunday, November 3, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani bade farewell to Ahmed Aldhaheri, Consul General of the UAE in the Kurdistan Region, and underlined the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and the Kurdistan Region.
According to a readout of the KRG, the Prime Minister highlighted the strong relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE and thanked Aldhaheri for his role in further strengthening these ties.
Moreover, the KRG said that Consul General Aldhaheri confirmed the good strategic relations between the UAE and Kurdistan Region, and emphasized the importance of increased cooperation across all sectors.
In a separate meeting, President Masoud Barzani received Consul General Aldhaheri.
During the meeting, President Barzani expressed his gratitude for the efforts and dedication of the UAE Consul General in Erbil and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The meeting also emphasized strengthening the ties and friendship between the people of Kurdistan and the people of the UAE.
The Kurdistan Region has strong bilateral ties with the UAE in fields like government services, construction, education, and digital transformation.
At the 2023 World Government Summit in Dubai, Prime Minister Barzani discussed expanding partnerships in trade, investment, and governance.
In the last few years, the Kurdistan Region has also exported its first major non-oil products to the UAE, including pomegranates and potatoes.
